Dr. Kathryn Horutz, a dentist who practices in Portland, is the new president of the Maine Dental Association’s Executive Board. She was voted into the position by MDA members at the organization’s annual convention on June 9 at the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks in South Portland.
Horutz is a graduate of Lafayette College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She then completed a general practice residency at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Conn. Horutz has practiced in Maine since 2007. She is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and International College of Dentists, and has completed dental service trips to the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, renovating her home and office, competing in triathlons, and spending time with her new dog.
“It is an honor to be the president of the Maine Dental Association. Dentistry is a profession that has given so much to me, and it is a privilege to be able to give back,” Horutz said. “I am looking forward to a busy year helping our members, as well as promoting oral health for all Mainers.”
Incorporated in 1867, the Maine Dental Association is a professional membership organization of licensed dentists. The MDA works to support members in achieving excellence in dentistry, and to be leaders in oral health in Maine. For more information about the MDA, go to www.medental.org.
